CURE BOATING CLUB (est. 1868)

Are you an adult rower? Have you rowed previously and are interested in getting back on the water? Ask about our RE-GO  ROW opportunity at

info@curerowing.co.nz.

The Cure Boating Club is situated in Kaiapoi within the Waimakariri District of North Canterbury.  The club rooms and boat shed are based 'riverside' on Raven Quay, downstream from the Williams Street Bridge in the centre of town, and overlook the beautiful Kaiapoi River.

We have been training and holding rowing events on the Kaiapoi and Waimakariri Rivers since 1868.

The Boating Club was established to "cure" the fierce rivalry between professional Kaiapoi river rowing crews that used to meet for high-profile races on the Waimakariri and Kaiapoi rivers in the early 1860s.

The Cure Boating Club has a competitive senior rowing squad, a competitive master's membership. A local age group rowing programme in conjunction with Rangiora High and Kaiapoi High, and we welcome other high school students who live in the area.

Membership mainly comes from the North Canterbury region and the surrounding towns of Rangiora and Kaiapoi.

Club Rebuild

SINCERE thanks to all those who have contributed to our rebuild following the 2010/2011 Canterbury Earthquakes.

Special mention goes to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Trust (CEAT) and the Waimakariri District Council.

We're nearly there after a mammoth effort over an extended period.
